I was level 35 and still haven’t got troll mutagen and was even lacking Troll liver to upgrade my remaining potions. The Troll mutagen doesn’t seem to drop always from trolls you encounter in the game. More so, the troll you have dialogues with or ones that are part of the quest don’t seem to respawn again. Then I read online that you just meditate for them to respawn but they dont. For example, on An Skellig, that one travel sign, Trail to Yngvar's Fang which is Northeast of Urialla Harbor, there's a troll that spawns there. I have killed two trolls of which I did not exchange dialogue. As the title says I can't find this F'ing thing anywhere. Troll mutagen is an alchemy ingredient and is used to craft Troll decoctions. They act like lesser green mutagens when placed in the diamond-shaped slots in the character panel.. Notes. I have played the Witcher 3, exchanged dialogue with 5 trolls already, and decided not to kill them. I have yet to receive a Troll Mutagen. All 5 trolls were involved in specific quests. The three in the Thaler missions didnt drop the mutagen, nor any of the random trolls I have killed in game so far. Troll mutagens are used to craft Troll decoctions. They can also be placed in the diamond-shaped slots on the Character panel next to each set of 3 square Ability slots to enhance the abilities further. In an undocumented change for Patch 1.08, all mutagen icons were changed. However, there was still a bug for those on Steam and Origin that didn't reflect this and was later fixed in Patch 1.22. I've killed tons of them and never got one mutagen. I didnt want to kill the singing painting troll. If that is the only place to get the mutagen I would like a meta gaming answer on that. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
