The character is flawed, like all those good detectives, and I think they were just so well-written. In Morse she gives as good as she gets and stands her ground. And as you say, the first thing she called him was “Inspector Mouse.” And certainly on set, the crew really enjoyed her audaciousness, but it’s not how I felt inside.
